Opportunity

We are looking for a Marine Mammals and Turtles Paramedic with the following qualifications:

  • Veterinary Diploma (Amd., Vet) or Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (S.KH), or Vet (drh.)
  • Fluent in Indonesian and English and have good communication skills.
  • Able to drive a motorbike and have a driving license.
  • Previous work experience in marine animal rescue or handling stranded marine mammals and sea turtles will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the biology and behavior of marine mammals and sea turtles, as well as the health issues and threats they face.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Happy to learn new things.

Job Descriptions

  • Respond to the rescue, handling, and rehabilitation of stranded marine mammals and sea turtles on beaches.
  • Coordinate with the team to promptly detect the presence of stranded marine mammals or sea turtles and provide appropriate medical assistance.
  • Conduct medical assessments and initial treatment for injured or critically ill animals.
  • Understand and follow proper animal safety and handling protocols to ensure the well-being of both animals and oneself.
  • Participate in conservation efforts and educate the public about the importance of marine mammal and sea turtle preservation.
  • Assisting marine programs, such as actively confronting the captive industry, working towards sustainable dolphin-watching practices, and conducting marine research.
