Role Summary

The Director of Development and Partnerships is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, external relations, and strategic communications. This role plays a central part in expanding the organization’s resource base, strengthening its partnerships, and ensuring long-term sustainability. The Director reports to the COO and CEO and works closely with the senior leadership team and must excel in relationship building, strategic thinking, communication, and resource mobilization.

Scope of Work

The Director of Development and Partnerships lead the development and partnership functions of the organization, with responsibilities that include:

Fundraising and Donor Engagement

  • Designing and executing effective fundraising strategies to secure funding from foundations, institutional donors, corporations, and individual philanthropists
  • Managing donor stewardship, including preparation for meetings, donor briefings, trips, and relationship maintenance
  • Identifying, cultivating, and developing new funding opportunities and strategic partnerships

Grant Management and Reporting

  • Overseeing timely, accurate, and compliant narrative and financial reporting
  • Ensuring alignment between donor requirements and program delivery across teams
  • Strengthening systems for grant tracking, reporting processes, and internal coordination

Institutional and Donor-Facing Communications

  • Providing strategic direction and quality assurance for proposals, donor reports, impact summaries, organizational dashboards, and other external materials
  • Ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency across institutional communications

Strategic Leadership of Kader Academy

  • Setting strategic direction for growth, positioning, and profile of the Kader Academy
  • Collaborating with program teams to ensure the Academy reaches at least 50,000 participants annually
  • Ensuring alignment between Kader Academy initiatives and fundraising or partnership goals

Social Media and Digital Communications Oversight

  • Providing strategic guidance and approval for social media and digital communication plans
  • Reviewing content calendars, campaigns, and messaging to ensure alignment with development and positioning objectives
  • The Director is not responsible for day-to-day content creation, design, or posting

Representation and Public Speaking

  • Representing the organization in meetings, conferences, donor events, and national or international forums
  • Delivering presentations, panel discussions, and speaking engagements that strengthen institutional branding and partnerships

Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking a mid-level to senior, values-driven leader who brings the following:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in a senior development, fundraising, partnerships, or resource mobilization role within a nonprofit, foundation, or mission-driven organization.
  • Proven leadership experience, including leading teams, working cross-functionally, and representing an organization with senior external stakeholders, donors, and partners.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising and partnerships, with experience securing funding from institutional donors, foundations, corporate partners, and or individual philanthropists.
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with the ability to translate organizational strategy into a clear, actionable fundraising and partnership plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in written English, with the ability to oversee compelling proposals, reports, donor updates, and presentations.
  • Experience working with international donors or partners, including an understanding of grant reporting, compliance, and donor stewardship.
  • Based in Bali, or willing to be based in Bali, with the ability to work closely with the leadership team and engage in-person with partners and donors as needed.
  • High integrity and professionalism, with the confidence to represent the organization at national and international forums.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic nonprofit environment.
  • Deep alignment with our mission, particularly in advancing maternal and child health, nutrition, and community-based systems strengthening.
