In Indonesia, Rikolto has its main office and operates in Denpasar, Bali Province and we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about data management as part of the monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes in the context of rice programme development to fill the position of Data Analyst for Rice Programme (full time), Based in Banyuwangi , Central Java

Job Overview:

Data Analyst will provide crucial support to the program team of Rice in collecting, updating and analyzing data related to the projects. This role will contribute to the implementation and development of MEL frameworks for Rice Programme, led by Program Manager and she/he contribute to the organization’s efforts to track program effectiveness and learn from its activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Data Collection

  • Responsible in updating all rice project data in the system based on progress field activities undertaken by projects.
  • Assist in the project study, collection of data through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other methods as directed by the MEL Coordinator of Rice Programme or respected team member.
  • Ensure the accurate validation and timely recording of data and maintain organized data records.

Data Entry and Management

  • Enter data into MEL databases (or any available software system)
  • Support in maintaining and updating data management systems to ensure data accuracy.
  • Support the programme team in annual reports writing and filing out the workbook indicators.
  • Support the program team in developing/improving MEL system

Data Analysis

  • Support the program in data analysis tasks, including data cleaning and basic quantitative or qualitative analysis as needed.
  • Assist in generating charts, graphs, and other visual representations of data for the purpose of rice program report presentation
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops related to MEL practices and tools.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing and learning initiatives within the organization.

Team Collaboration

  • Playing an exemplary role with respect to the values, identity of Rikolto in Indonesia; ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics in order to safeguard its organisational reputation;
  • Closely working as a team towards shared objectives and contribute as well outside the own work field;
  • Collaborate with other respected unit to ensure adequate support for smooth programme operations.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development, statistics, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • About 2 years’ experience in the relevant field. Having experience in data commodities is an advantage
  • Previous experience in data collection and analysis

Specific Skills Required:

  • Strong attention to detail and data organizational skills
  • Previous experience in design of surveys/data collection method and qualitative studies;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access or visual design-infographic tools; and other relevant data survey and monitoring tools (i.e: kobo/stata/SPSS)
  • Ability to facilitate focus group discussions and other group monitoring and learning processes.
  • Good communication skills, especially related to data collection interview processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow instructions.
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.
  • Affinity with rural development and sustainable agriculture;
  • Good understanding of sustainability livelihood, gender-sensitive research methods and youth.
  • Ability to drive motorbike is an advantage
