SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. SurfAid is currently working in a few locations in Indonesia: Mentawai Island District in West Sumatera, and Sumba Barat and Rote Ndao Districts in NTT. We work in the areas that are considered the most remote, with limited infrastructure and few community empowerment programs working there.

IMPACT AND LEARNING MANAGER

The Impact and Learning Manager is responsible for managing and improving MERL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning) and program approaches development and implementation across all SurfAid’s Indonesia programs, in line with SurfAid values and donor requirements.

THE PERSON:

You are experienced in improving program quality and impact, and confident in leading evaluations, assessments, and research across multi-site programs. You are well organized and have an independent personality who loves to work collaboratively in a team. You will be travelling to the project locations regularly, therefore your willingness to travel to remote areas in basic conditions is highly expected. It would be great if you are used to working with small organizations, as you are required to be hands-on as necessary to engage in improving the system, taking initiatives and making decisions.

THE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Minimum master’s degree from any relevant majors: statistics, economy, math, sustainability management, or public health

  • 5  years’ experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research in the Development sector

  • Good understanding in developing Social Behaviour Change Strategy (SBCC)

  • Good understanding in principles of designing IEC materials

  • Familiar with logic models, theories of change, and impact frameworks (e.g., Social Return on Investment – SROI).

  • Experience in NGOs, development work, or CSR

  • Adept in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting

  • Advance microsoft excel and other software for calculating and reporting

  • Strong writing skills for reporting both Indonesian and English

  • Strong analytical, communication and project management skills

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Working collaboratively in a team

  • Experienced in conducting training or coaching others

  • Working with multiple external consultants and stakeholders

  • Willing to be based Bali
