The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis. GIZ has been working in Indonesia since 1975 and formally with ASEAN since 2009 on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Global Skills Partnership in nursing is a cooperation between GIZ, Indonesian Ministry of Health and Goethe Institut to prepare the Indonesian nursing students for professional employment both in Indonesia and Germany. The training consists of upgraded nursing curriculum, additional field practicum in the long-term care and German Language training up to B2 certification. This cooperation is supported by the Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit (BA) and the German Health Ministry as well as KP2MI (Kementrian Perlindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia).

We seek 4 (four) motivated and qualified Indonesian candidates for:

Junior Advisor Global Skills Partnership in Nursing

Core Tasks

In your role you support the officer responsible for the commission in implementing the technical, content-related and organizational aspects of the commission. In consultation with your line manager, you collaborate on planning and steering tasks and on monitoring the activities and measures. You also respond promptly and competently to matters that fall within your as- signed thematic area, where applicable in consultation with experienced specialists, and following consultation remain available to answer further enquiries.

You may be assigned individual tasks in connection with project administration and project implementation. You participate in the conceptual design of the project, in particular in the modification or realignment of the project. You provide technical and substantive contributions to overarching issues in cooperation with commissioning parties/clients, partners and other actors, and thereby support strategy development.

In coordination with the country director and your line manager, you also use your contacts for the acquisition of job orders on behalf of the company. Working with experienced specialists, you resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.

You clearly communicate the relevant requirements, conditions and restrictions in terms of your capacity to act with due regard for compliance rules and P+R. You deal with the matters and job orders assigned to you with due regard for all the legal, contractual, socio-political and corporate policy requirements and the instructions of your line manager and follow up the processing and completion of those tasks.

Working with experienced specialists, you resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.

In addition, you deal with all associated matters in your thematic area promptly and competently.

You provide support for knowledge management and ongoing process development in your area of responsibility. You also prepare and share documentation.

You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.

Main Activities

The incumbent contributes to smoothly run the project operations through an effective and efficient execution of the Global Skills Partnership programme in the areas of administrative tasks, organizational of the German language classes, implementation of the upgraded nursing curriculum, pre-departure measurement, as well as monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

The Junior Advisor reports directly to the Program Component Manager Triple Win Indonesia and each coordinators holds office in the following Polytechnic Indonesian Ministry of Health:

  • Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta III
  • Poltekkes Kemenkes Bandung
  • Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang
  • Poltekkes Kemenkes Banten

The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Advisor of the Global Skills Partnership Programme at the Indonesian Country Office (Triple Win and ZME), the assigned staffs from the Poltekkes Kemenkes, German Language Teacher and the Global Skills Partnership Team from Germany.

The main tasks of the incumbent:

  • Performing administrative tasks pre, during, and after events as well as providing necessary documentation,
  • Ensuring smooth organizational of the German language course at the assigned Poltekes including but not limited to scheduling courses and exams, overseeing the attendance list, learning progress, and transparent feedback mechanism to the participants,
  • Ensuring smooth implementation and logistical preparation of the upgraded nursing curriculum, practical exposures at long term care facilities, and train of trainers,
  • Ensure smooth coordination among Global Skills Partnership’s stakeholders including but not limited to organizing regular monitoring and evaluation meetings,
  • Ensuring smooth pre-departure processes to migrate to Germany for the participants during the implementation of the programme and upon graduation,
  • General corporate tasks – performs work of other administrative staff and/or other tasks relevant to the job or organizational unit, participate in task teams, and other corporate entrepreneurial or strategy-linked endeavours,
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Programme Component Manager of Triple Win Indonesia.

Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.

Qualifications

  • At least bachelor’s degree in german education, English Education, International Relationship, Office Management or Business Administration or a relevant field,
  • Experience as a foreign language teacher, event organizer, administrative duties or an international NGOs is an advantage,
  • Fresh Graduate especially those with volunteering experiences in teaching foreign language or working with elderly are encouraged to apply,
  • Good knowledge in organizing a training or running a foreign language class,
  • Good knowledge in project cycle management (from planning until evaluation stage),
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point),
  • Assures the quality of results,
  • Ability to cooperate constructively and reliably with candidates and stakeholders,
  • Shows stamina and an ability to work under pressure and in difficult situations,
  • Is performance oriented and highly competent at organizing his/her own work,
  • Acts in a politically sensitive way that is appropriate in the given context,
  • Ability to facilitate and sustain participants motivation,
  • Good command in spoken and written English,
  • Knowledge of German language at B1 level is an advantage (the willingness to learn German as soon as possible upon acceptance of offer is a must).
