About Position

This specialist will transform the strategic objectives of the Mother Learn program into actionable training and mentorship interventions. The role requires a seasoned professional to manage the full program cycle—from design and technical assistance to monitoring and stakeholder engagement—focused on empowering entrepreneurial mothers through improved financial literacy, business management, and digital knowledge. This position is critical for achieving the desired outcome of Mother’s Small Business Revenue Growth and ultimately, liberating beneficiary families from generational poverty. The core mandate of this role is to design, manage, and implement high-impact capacity building and technical assistance programs that directly enhance the business knowledge, financial literacy, and digital skills of YCAB’s ultra-micro-entrepreneurial mothers (Mother Learn beneficiaries), thereby driving measurable revenue growth and family economic stability.

Responsibilities:

Program Development and Capacity Building

  • Design and manage integrated training and technical assistance programs focusing on core business skills: financial literacy, small-scale business management, marketing, and digital technologies (e.g., social media, e-commerce).
  • Lead the implementation of capacity building programs, ensuring the effective delivery of training modules and establishing peer-support groups for mother entrepreneurs.
  • Provide direct technical guidance and advisory services to mothers to help them apply new financial and business knowledge, including business progress monitoring and mentorship.
  • Continuously review and update training curricula to ensure relevance and alignment with best practices in micro-enterprise development and the digital economy.
Partnership and Resource Mobilization
  • Actively build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and the private sector, to secure support and enhance awareness of the Mother Learn program.
  • Coordinate with the microfinance team to ensure mothers receive necessary resources, such as working capital and microfinance loans.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Strategic Learning
  • Collaborate with the RME unit to assist in tracking program progress, measuring the impact of capacity improvements, and assessing the increase in Mother’s Small Business Revenue Growth.
  • Utilize monitoring data to assess whether mothers are successfully applying new knowledge and use these insights for strategic program improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic planning to address systemic barriers and ensure the long-term growth and quality of mother-owned businesses.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Gender Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Management, International Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in program management, technical assistance, or capacity building specifically related to mother’s economic empowerment or ultra micro-enterprise development.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing direct training and advisory services to individuals or organizations on topics like financial literacy and business management.
  • Proven experience in private sector engagement and/or working with government agencies and civil society organizations.
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role is highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and coach clients on multi-faceted business concepts and drive business progress monitoring.
  • Deep awareness of the unique economic and social challenges faced by ultra-microentrepreneurial mother.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training delivery, stakeholder reporting, and advocacy.
  • Ability to influence, motivate, and lead program execution while effectively working with diverse internal teams (e.g., finance, field staff) and external partners.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills to address on-the-ground business challenges faced by beneficiaries.
