The Role:

The BHS Field Coordinator provides assistance in developing, managing, and advancing conservation programs, plans and methods in Southwest Papua and assists BHS Portfolio Manager internally to coordinate implementation, monitoring, and reporting activity.

Together with YKAN, the BHS Field Coordinator provides technical leadership & support by planning, directing, and implementing conservation programs and stewardship in all YKAN work locations in West Papua Province, Indonesia.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate and experienced in MPA program planning, conservation planning and strategies, implementation of MPA management in coordination with local partners, evaluation and measuring of success, coordination of surveillance with local authorities, biological and social monitoring, community outreach and communications. This position also must build the capacity of partners and stakeholders. The BHS Field Coordinator reports to the Papua Bird’s Head Seascape Senior Manager and is based in
Sorong, Southwest Papua, Indonesia.
