Job title: Research Coordinator

Location: Sukadana

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monitoring of reforestation activities, ecosystem surveys, data collection and analysis of changes in soil and water components in reforested areas, as well as biomonitoring and analysis of survey data related to sustainable livelihood programs
  • Conduct specific studies and analyses on themes as directed by the Research and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Manager
  • Manage the CommCare database until the application is stable and ready for use at ASRI
  • Supervise Research Assistants in carrying out their responsibilities both in the field and in the office environment
  • Oversee and monitor research activities conducted within and outside of ASRI, whether carried out by ASRI staff, students, or partner institutions
  • Properly document all activities, including photo documentation, data and sample collection, in accordance with procedural protocols and written documentation methods used in each research activity
  • Assist the Research and M&E Manager in preparing publications in the form of journals, posters, or other written works for national and international dissemination
  • Assist the Research and M&E Manager in preparing efficient and transparent research plans and budgets for each ASRI site
  • Assist the Research and M&E Manager in compiling financial reports and monthly activity reports regularly and in accordance with institutional policies and donor requirements.

Selection Criteria:

  • Non-Smoker
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Forestry, or another relevant field
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply by demonstrating a strong interest in ecological research, especially botany and plant ecology
  • Research experience in ecology is preferred
  • Willing to conduct field visits across all working areas, requiring physical fitness and an ability to work in various environmental conditions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within ASRI organization
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in English (written or oral) is preferred
  • Willingness to undertake extensive field visits across all working areas
