Habitat for Humanity Indonesia is seeking a Finance Officer to support the financial management of the Yogyakarta Project by overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with Habitat policies and donor requirements, and maintaining accurate accounting and financial reporting practices.
Key Responsibility:
Financial Control & Compliance
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures, including cash advance reconciliations, cash counts, and financial documentation reviews.
- Ensure financial transactions comply with Habitat policies, donor requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Communicate any concerns, irregularities, or procedural issues to the Supervisor and the Finance Department at the National Office in a timely manner.
Reconciliation & Accounting
- Prepare and maintain timely bank and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Maintain petty cash records and supporting documentation and ensure timely data entry into the SUN System.
- Manage petty cash and perform monthly petty cash counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Payments Administration
- Manage day-to-day project payment activities and ensure timely processing of financial transactions.
- Review payment requests and verify the completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
- Monitor and verify labor payment processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and maintain payment vouchers and supporting documentation for all expenditures and disbursements.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and report any variances.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and donor financial reports.
Audit & Coordination
- Assist in audit preparations by providing all required documentation and coordinating with internal and external auditors.
- Coordinate with program and operations teams to ensure smooth financial implementation of project activities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or project finance administration, preferably within an NGO or donor-funded project environment.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and accounting software. Experience with SUN System is an advantage.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s vision, mission, and values.
- Experience in grant management, donor compliance, and financial reporting is an advantage.
- Domicile in Yogyakarta.
