Swisscontact Indonesia is currently enhancing its portfolio of services that includes consulting or advisory assignments, capacity building support and facilitation roles relevant to Indonesia’s growing markets. Thus, we are seeking a strategic and creative Marketing and Communications Manager who is able to lead integrated communication efforts to enhance our visibility, brand positioning and stakeholder engagement.

Job Brief

The Marketing and Communications Manager will spearhead and manage all communication initiatives aimed to strengthen Swisscontact Indonesia’s brand presence, market positioning and partnership growth. He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and activities that enhance the visibility of existing projects and strengthen the organisation’s competitiveness. This role also supports the business development efforts by crafting compelling narratives and strategic messaging, identifying partnership opportunities and contributing to proposal development in collaboration with the project teams. The workplace is Swisscontact Country Office Jakarta with possibility to travel to project locations as required.

Task, Authority & Responsibility

Strategic Communication and Branding

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing and communication strategies aligned with Swisscontact’s objectives.
  • Strengthen and maintain Swisscontact’s brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and visual representation across all communication channels and materials.
  • Support strategic positioning efforts to enhance the organisation’s exposure, credibility, and engagement with key stakeholders, donors, partners, and public audience.
  • Lead creative strategies to stay ahead of trends in the evolving marketing space.

Content and Media Management

  • Create and manage high-quality communication materials (press releases, newsletters, social media content, annual reports, and other publications) tailored to the targeted stakeholders and delivered through the most relevant channels.
  • Oversee Swisscontact Indonesia’s digital and social media platforms, ensuring regular updates, engaging storytelling, and data-driven content optimisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media representatives, coordinate press engagements, and manage media coverage to effectively communicate Swisscontact’s impact and initiatives.
  • Organise and manage public relations events, workshops, stakeholder meetings, in coordination with the project teams and Swisscontact management.

Business Development Support

  • Collaborate with the project teams and Swisscontact management to identify new partnership opportunities.
  • Develop tailored communication materials for donor engagement, including capability statements, pitch decks, and success stories.
  • Contribute to proposal development by providing strategic messaging, visual assets, and contextual insights.
  • Manage and update a repository of marketing materials, project success stories and highlights to support quick and effective responses to funding opportunities.

Internal Communication

  • Support internal Knowledge and Communication Management (KCM) initiatives and ensure availability of capitalization products in the organisation’s system and channels.
  • Manage all aspects of internal communication such as employee training on communication, landing page content and other tools to help projects achieve their communication objectives.
  • Coordinate with project teams in the country and communication teams in Asia region to generate new ideas, exchange success stories and enhance collaboration.

Employee Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field (Master’s degree would be preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in strategic communications in both development and private sectors.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in managing small team.
  • Experience in supporting business development or proposal writing would be beneficial.
  • Agile and adaptable to diverse and dynamic environments.
