In Indonesia, GIZ’s Energy Transition Cluster / Energy Programme Indonesia/ASEAN acts as trusted partner and technical advisor to the Government of Indonesia for the transition towards a sustainable energy system.
The Energy Transition Cluster of GIZ Indonesia works across five thematic areas:
- Power system transformation
- Sustainable energy finance
- Industry decarbonization
- Island energy solutions
- Just Energy Transition
Green Energy, as part of the “MEMR-GIZ Energy Programme”, aims at supporting Government of Indonesia creating the political, regulatory and technical preconditions for achieving a participatory implementation of a sustainable energy system, in line with Vision of Indonesia Emas 2045 and a commitment to achieving Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060 or sooner. One of the components under Green Energy TC (Technical Cooperation) is Renewable Energy to Grid (RE2Grid).
The main purpose of RE2Grid component or project is to achieve energy and climate policy targets for the expansion of variable renewable energies in electricity generation systems as well as the planning and integration of such RE into the power systems. The action areas that are the focus of RE2Grid project are:
Action area 1: Advisory on policy and regulatory framework for the promotion of electricity generation from vRE
Action area 2: Technical advisory and recommendations on how to overcome techno-economic challenges in the areas of grid operation and generation expansion planning with vRE for Sulawesi
Action area 3: Technical advisory and recommendations for the initiation/realization of large-scale vRE investment projects in Sulawesi
Action area 4: Cross-cutting approach to support capacity development regarding vRE topics
The Green Energy (RE2Grid) project is seeking one qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position:
Trainee for The Green Energy
Responsibilities
- The trainee will support the implementation of the RE2Grid activities under 4 action areas.
- Students will be involved in RE2Grid activities and will be given specific assignments so they can gain work experience related to renewable energy.
- This trainee program is intended to develop skills and knowledge and provide opportunities for networking among energy sectors. RE2Grid will support this development through a mentoring concept and will mentor trainees during their tenure at RE2Grid through its activities.
Tasks
As part of their learning process, the trainee will be working closely with and assisting the Advisor(s), in the following tasks:
- Assist RE2Grid for seamless administration and finance process with Service Unit when organizing events/meetings/seminars in line with the project purposes
- Assist RE2Grid in working closely with the consultants/vendors/partners during the project implementation in activities including administrative preparation, implementation, finalization, and documentation of the events
- Assist advisors on preparing the supporting document for invoice verification (invoice, list of participants)
- Assist communication related activities, including the collection and compilation of project’s communication materials and social media content, etc.
- Assist in data collection, processing, and publication from training, meetings, and/or other events.
- Support any other assignments within the scope as required by the project
Required qualifications, competences and
Qualifications
- Bachelor/master’s degree holder or final year student from any majors.
- Basic knowledge and familiarity on energy sector on Indonesia and global context.
- Experience and or strong interest in analytical skills, event management, and digital (social media).
- Experience in conducting desk research and copy writing.
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good command of Ms. Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and design tools (Canva, Adobe, etc).
- Proficiency in English and excellent writing skills.
- Ability to work in a team and to adapt to an intercultural working environment.

Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day
