VACANCY FOR THE POST OF FINANCE & ACCOUNTING OFFICER

About Kurawal Foundation:
Kurawal Foundation is a Jakarta-based not-for-profit organization that aims to promote democratic values, institutions, and practices in Indonesia and abroad. The foundation is a donor’s inter-media agency that serves civil society organizations and the broader pro-democracy movement in developing new ideas, initiatives, and endeavors to strengthen democracy.
Purpose of Position:
The Finance and Accounting Officer (FAO) is a full-time position to support the Finance and HR Manager in the executive office of the foundation. Working in the Finance and HR Department, the FAO is responsible for recording financial transactions for the foundations and reporting to the Finance and HR Manager regularly. He/she is responsible for the accuracy of these transactions to ensure compliance with all Kurawal and donor policies and procedures. The FAO is to regularly assist the Finance and HR Manager to do the payment transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial/accounting records and prepare clear calculations to support informational, auditing and operational use.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts, and ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with donor and organizational policies and procedures
- Make timely payment process in the banking system to all parties and monitor banking activities of the organization.
- Provide technical assistants and support day-to-day financial activities to the program team and work directly under the supervision and direction of Finance and HR Manager
- Together with other team members review the financial system of the foundations to identify aspects that can be improved.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree is required, in which a finance/accounting background will be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of financial/accounting management experience in the not-for-profit sector, preferably with increasing responsibility in donor-funded projects that reflect a sound understanding of financial processing and accounting cycle, as well as the nature of the NGO’s operation and management
- Have extensive knowledge in accounting, finance, and taxes with excellent skills in the use of accounting software, internet banking, and Microsoft Excel. Experience in auditing will be
preferable. - Detailorientedandaccurate.Highstandardofpersonalandprofessionalintegrity.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive in managing work priorities, juggle competing tasks, and work with minimal supervision
- Good written and verbal communication, liaison and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in the team.
- A good command of English will be preferable.
