Together with YKAN, The The Peatlands Specialist provides technical and scientific support for protection and restoration initiatives in tropical peatlands to help fill critical knowledge gaps and contribute to implementation of peatlands conservation and restoration project as part of NCS initiative.

Are you passionate about being a part of group of dedicated employees who are united by our mission to preserve the lands and waters on which all life depends? As The Peatland Specialist supports projects and teams to guide and delivers science and projects implementation related to peat conservation and restoration.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
- Develop, collect, and analyze data and maintain a database library, maps, monitoring reports, and scientific publication.
- Liaise with and develop strategic partnerships with local communities, relevant agencies, academic partners, conservation organizations, and/or the private sectors.
- Contribute to and build science capacity by actively engaging and contributing to the peatlands NCS Project.
- Lead and support the establishment of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks that provide knowledge to develop conservation strategies.
- Support publication on peat conservation and restoration.
- Providing technical support for canal blocking installation, revegetation and other forest protection activities.
- Prepare program materials including presentations, memos, and other communications related to the project.
