The Impact Investment Senior Manager will work closely with the Terrestrial Program Director and other relevant teams to scope, identify, structure, and close investment opportunities domestically and globally that support YKAN’s primary conservation priorities.

We’re looking for someone who is motivated and passionate with experience to mobilize investment for conservation works, with the following scope:
- Develop the impact investment case around sustainable forestry (including NTFPs, carbon, sustainable timber, etc.) in Indonesia by working closely with the YKAN internal teams and relevant partners. This shall include collecting primary market information related to forestry operations, NTFP business models, current value chains, potential revenues, associated costs with sustainable timber management, logistics planning, etc.
- Grow a pipeline of conservation impact investment opportunities in sustainable forestry, aligned with YKAN’s priorities and values that can be funded through various sustainable financing strategies based on the projects’ underlying economic business case.
- Lead the development of all business proposals, financial models, strategy decks, and pitch decks, and support the development of investment memorandums and any other necessary investor materials.
- Develop the detailed financial model for the shortlisted impact investment opportunities, with support from other relevant teams.
- Develop creative business models, financial mechanisms, and solutions that meet the unique needs and financial attributes of conservation finance projects and work with other team members to structure and launch such solutions. For example, meeting requirements of financing communities for NTFP business models, developing financial mechanisms for logging concessions to implement reduced impact logging, carbon finance, etc.
- Conduct business and financial analysis and due diligence, as required, on external partners and projects to identify new business and investment opportunities.
- Supervise staff and consultants that might be engaged for different feasibility studies, including business and investment analysis, DED, stakeholder consultations, etc.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to conduct detailed negotiations and manage risk with potential investors, operating partners, and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with local, global, and regional partners to identify and cultivate potential international and domestic investors whose financial and impact interests align with YKAN conservation finance projects.
- As the principal contact to government agencies, investors, conservation organizations and foundations, and the local community on finance, business incubation, and market-related issues.
The Impact Investment Senior Manager will supervise the Community-based Business Development Manager and will report to the Terrestrial Program Director. This position is based in Jakarta, with frequent travel to respective YKAN work areas in other provinces.
