Job Description
CONSERVATION SPECIALIST PROGRAM SOLUSI
- The Conservation Specialist will be responsible for implementing landscape and seascape conservation in Belitung, Central Java and Central Sulawesi which integrated to terrestrial and marine conservation, especially related to bioprospecting and sustainable use management as well as restoration ecosystem and protection the habitat of the endangered threated species.
- Provide technical input to local implementer, local government, and key stakeholders in the process of integrated land and seascape management plan as well as to provide a conceptual model of landscape conservation.
- Work closely with the MEL and Grant Specialist to monitor and records the progress of specific indicators that related to conservation activity.
- Coordinate and communicate with partners as well as parties involved in implementing partner programs, especially the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), the Ministry of Marine and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment and Forest and relevant local governments.
- Review of minutes, reports, and documents, as well as activities developed by other staff of the SOLUSI Project.
- Monitor the progress of partner projects, consultants for the preparation of regular reports and evaluation reports of the SOLUSI Program.
- Assist in evaluating partner proposals implementation (administrative and technical)
- Prepare regular reports, including monthly, quarterly, annual reports.
- Provide support and capacity building for partners and facilitators.
- Review guidelines/SOPs to support project implementation.
- Participate in events related to the progress of SOLUSI Project.
- Assist in preparing the annual plan for the SOLUSI Project and other relevant task related to information, communication, and publication.
- Assist in preparing program reports for various parties related to SOLUSI Project.
- Undertake any other official duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
Qualification :
- Master degree (S2) in Environmental Engineering, Forestry, Biology, Marine, Fisheries, Agriculture, Soil Science and other related Sciences.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in conservation, sustainable use/supply chain and monitoring, preferably experience with NGO working systems as well as working with village, district office and landscape jurisdiction.
- Understand government policies especially for RTRW, RZWP3K, Social Forestry, TAHURA, Taman Kehati, Ecosystem Essential Areas (KEE) and New IBSAP developments, science, and local context on landscape conservation, climate change, and sustainable supply chain as well as community-based entrepreneurship including gender and social inclusion practiced in Indonesia.
- Good command of English (written and conversation).
- Strong competencies in conservation and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) of project as well as in data base management.
- Experience working with international donor agencies.
- Experience on the GIZ, IKI-BUMV or Germany Government funded programs will be considered an asset.
