Mission of the position:

The National Director leads, manages and develops the MA as its chief executive, ensuring effective delivery of programmes and services to children and young people, families and communities aligned to SOS Children’s Villages federation’s vision, mission, values and strategy.

The National Director develops and implements the “Aims, Objectives and Policies” of SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia to ensure high quality services to children, young people and employees according to the defined organization standards. S/he represents SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia and built network and collaborates with key stake holders such as the government, development sector agencies and potential partners. S/he work in close coordination and cooperation with International Director – Asia or his/her representative towards development and implementation of organization’s policies. S/he report to the Board of SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain synergetic and collaborative working relationships & networks with key stakeholders such as government, Promoting and Supporting Agencies, donors, Regional Office, development sector agencies and potential partners for programme objectives.
  • Drive the MA in the direction of becoming self-sufficient in operations, and strong member of the federation.
  • Maximize the financial self-sufficiency of the MA according to the potential in the country through seeking governmental subsidies and funding, international/national grants as well as through local fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide strong and ethical leadership in accordance with SOS principles and values.
  • Set the direction and strategy for the MA by ensuring the right mix of local and regional needs.
  • Lead MA according to the principles of management by objectives and best practices
  • Actively support National Management Team in their roles.
  • Ensure that the right people are in the right positions with right capacity.
  • Build the human capacity of the MA to ensure long-term growth and stability.
  • Ensure the effective and sustainable management of the MA’s financial and other resources.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to binding policies and regulations in line with organizational values and ethics as guided by organizational quality standards including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct; Child Safeguarding, Integrity & Compliance.
  • Ensure the operational effectiveness of all programmes and guarantee child-care quality according to the organization’s defined standards
  • Ensure that employees and partners are treated professionally and according to the principles and values of the organization.
  • Promote and manage visibility, good reputation and brand of the organization externally.
  • Monitor and review the progress made in the course of the annual planning and review cycle.
  • Support crisis interventions/ ensure cases are reliably reported according to standards of international crisis communications guideline
  • Ensure strong local rooting by building recognition at all levels in the country and strengthen the affiliation to the international Federation by participation in and contributing to international processes.

Requirement :

  • Maximum Age – 50 years old.
  • Bachelor/master degree in business management/Social Science or development related subjects.
  • Should have 15+ years of experience including at least 5 years at a senior leadership level /or management position.
  • Good Communication skills (verbal+ written) in Bahasa and English and proficiency in computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
  • Program coordination, fund generation and fund management.
  • Leading and managing people that includes team building, planning and problem solving to ensure quality services to program participants (e.g. caregivers, coworkers, children, and young people, etc).
  • Knowledge of development issues especially concerning children and youth.
  • Willing to travel as & when needed.
