OVERVIEW

SINTAS Indonesia Foundation (SINTAS), founded by well experienced conservation practitioners who have been dedicating their lifetime professional careers in addressing various major conservation issues. SINTAS, means “survive” and stands for Save the Indonesian Nature and Threatened Species, has been established with the realization that the success of conserving the Indonesia natural resources in the long run can only be achieved through a well-rounded leadership of the Indonesian practitioners. SINTAS believes that through its practical vision and missions, it can promote a sustainable development for both the people and the nature. SINTAS missions are focus on: (1) Ensuring national leadership in conserving the Indonesian natural resources; (2) Put in place sound science interventions to ensure effective natural resources management, and; (3) To establishment of effective stakeholders’ partnership to ensure comprehensive sustainable development.

SINTAS programs focus on site-level conservation in Sumatra and Java, with projected development at cross-provincial and island levels. SINTAS also has activities at the national level to support national governments in the management of protected areas, species conservation, law enforcement, and education as well as community empowerment.

SINTAS is currently looking for a Communication and Awareness Assistant (CAA). As a Communication and Awareness Assistant s/he will be supporting Communication and Awareness Officer for the implementation of an engaging social media strategy and action plan which will deliver virtual, participant-driven content and publish contents that are relevant to our audience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support social media strategy execution.
  • Research articles, stories, resources, or other contents that are relevant to our communities and posts it to SINTAS’s social media platforms in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
  • Support the development of SINTAS’s official website on framework and design.
  • Content development and publishing both on social media and website, especially about Java-wide Leopard Survey.
  • Contribute to the planning and rollout of awareness campaigns focused on key issues addressed by SINTAS, ensuring participation and visibility across digital channels.
  • Work closely with field teams to gather stories, updates, and insights to be featured in communication materials.
  • Assist with the documentation of activities under the SINTAS program.
  • Support for the implementation of communication activities, events and raise awareness about SINTAS program.

Please note that the above TOR constitutes only the main responsibilities and duties of this position.

As SINTAS is a flexible organization, staff members are expected to undertake any other tasks that are allocated to them, which are not part of their regular TOR.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will show a strong interest in communication, preferably a social media practitioner, thus no specific degree is required. S/he must be social media savvy, proactive, and have a strong desire to enhance internet presence. S/he must be comfortable working in a virtual environment.

This is a junior position in SINTAS and based in Bogor West Java, with regular travel to project sites. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Creative self-starter and comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration in a virtual environment.
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional photo-taking and video-taking skills.
  • Familiar with website design development and maintenance.
  • Experience with Social Media applications, basic photo-editing and video-editing software, and internet browsers. Experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Procreate and WordPress is a plus.
  • Familiar with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Candidates who comfortable and familiar with field activities are preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills and be a team player.
  • Expected to join the team on 26 May 2025.
