SAHABAT CIPTA (SC) is an Indonesian non-profit organization founded in 2007 by professionals in development with a vision of increased welfare in Indonesia. Its mission is to empower communities with new skills and opportunities, so they become self-reliant. SC focuses on provision of project management, strategic advice and training in the field of local economic development, community livelihood improvement, value chain development, small business development, rural skills development, microfinance, and environmental management in which to a certain extent business enabling environment can be a component of the economic development project. SC has successfully developed and implemented more than 40 programs spread throughout Indonesia, creating various opportunities for people and communities.

SC is currently implementing a cocoa development project in Berau, East Kalimantan, and is seeking a qualified Project Manager to lead the initiative. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring project activities in alignment with the established work plan, ensuring timely delivery within budget and in accordance with the defined scope of work.

Job Title: Project Manager for Cocoa Development Project

Work Location: Berau, East Kalimantan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of cocoa farm development program activities on the ground.
  • Effectively implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) principles into farmers’ agricultural practices.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular progress reports.
  • Identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support capacity building and engagement with farmers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Project Management, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in project management, preferably in cocoa or agriculture projects.
  • Strong understanding of cocoa plantation program is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage budget, timeline, and project teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to be based in Berau, East Kalimantan.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with rural communities and sustainability programs.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
