BACKGROUND
YPII with funded by the EU, will implement the Voice for Equality project; empowering Civil Society Organization (CSO) in Indonesia for Gender Base Violence (GBV) prevention and response. This project aims to strengthen the capacity and enabling environment for CSOs in advancing women’s and girls’ agency, transforming harmful gender norms, rebalancing power relations, and building effective, inclusive, and community-rooted prevention and response mechanisms against GBV. In line with the OECD DAC Gender Equality Policy Marker (G2), the action seeks to make gender equality a primary objective.
- Women’s groups will be empowered to expand Integrated Service Centers and launch local campaigns, addressing structural barriers such as economic dependency and stigma.
- Youth groups, particularly girls and young men, will engage in educational campaigns, leadership training, and extracurricular activities focused on GBV, Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), online safety, and positive masculinities.
- Local CSOs will receive tailored support to deliver GBV services to underserved, remote communities.
- People with disabilities and LGBTQIA+ groups will be included through inclusive service design and targeted CSO training to address their unique vulnerabilities.
This project will work with partner KAPAL Perempuan and 10 other CSOs across Indonesia. Which has an experience program related to child protection and GBV.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator will support and assist the Project Manager in the implementation and achievement of the project objectives based on the target achievement that has been agreed upon by all stakeholders, including the donor. S/he also supports the partner in implementing the project as well as advocacy at the provincial and local levels. S/he is responsible for the successful implementation of the project and growing the project portfolio.
DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE
- The post holder reports to the Project Manager
- Support the Project Manager to manage the project planning, implementation, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Assist and support the partner regarding project implementation
- Conduct advocacy at the provincial and local level, as well as working closely with partners to create stories and any advocacy materials
- Ensuring all the project documents are well archived
- Support the Project Manager and the communication specialist to develop communication material to promote the project achievements
- Work closely with Program Support Unit (PSU) to build the portfolio of projects
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Education Sector/Social Welfare/Community Development/others relevant fields
- At least 3 years of experience working on project management funded by EU or any major donor, preferably in GEDSI or child protection, both in development and humanitarian settings, is a plus
- Experience in managing project day-to-day implementation, delivering on obligations, and a good awareness of project requirements and priorities.
- Experience in capacity building for government, NGOs/CSOs, youth community, disability group, women’s group
- Good analytical skills, well-informed about methods to capture change/results of project implementation
- Skill in a diversity of partnerships, NGOs, research, and government
- Demonstrated experience working with governments closely and effectively.
- Able to speak and write in English well (Preferably)
- Good interpersonal communication and facilitation skills for mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Possess good judgement to deal with conflict
- Able to work both in a team and independently with minimum supervision,
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, under pressure
- Commitment to Safeguarding and Child Center Community Development (CCCD) implementation
- Commitment to fraud awareness policy
Location: The post holder will be based in Nagekeo, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
Type of Role: 1-year Fixed-term contract (PKWT)
Reports to: straight line to Project Manager Voice for Equality
