Megafauna Ecology and Conservation Group is looking for a field Assistant!

Are you passionate about wildlife conservation and eager to make a hands-on impact in one of Indonesia’s most biodiverse ecosystems? We’re seeking dedicated individuals to join us as field assistants in Way Kambas National Park and Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of biology, with a focus on forest ecology and botany (S1 biology, forestry, or relevant major).
  • Fresh graduates are very welcome.
  • Basic understanding of vegetation plotting.
  • Ability to work effectively in field conditions and adapt to challenging environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Job Description: As a Field Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with charismatic elephants and rhinoceroses.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting field surveys to monitor the feeding habits and behavior of elephants and rhinoceroses.
  • Data on feeding patterns was collected by doing vegetation plots.
  • Conducting feeding trials on rhinoceros and germination experiments.
