Happy Hearts Indonesia (HHI) envisions that every child in Indonesia has access to education by attending safe and earthquake-resistant schools. We began our mission by rebuilding 30 schools in Yogyakarta following the devastating earthquake in 2006. Since the inception of our international chapter in Indonesia in 2013, we continue to support schools affected by natural disaster and those in underserved areas to provide access to proper education.
HHI recognizes the urgent need for quality education and combating poverty in Indonesia. This is why in 2018 after assessments revealed the unsafe schooling conditions on the islands of East Nusa Tenggara (Sumba, Flores, and Timor), we extended our support by providing educational materials, furniture, sanitary facilities, and started the #IAMCHANGE campaign to grant access to better education.
