Food for the Hungry Indonesia is an independent non-governmental organization based in Medan, North Sumatra and operates in North Sumatra Province and the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra Province. Food for the Hungry Indonesia started working in Indonesia after the December 2004 tsunami killed 283,000 people. Food for the Hungry Indonesia worked with devastated communities to help them rebuild their lives and homes. In 2011, Food for the Hungry Indonesia began a long-term development work and currently we are working to address all forms of human poverty, visible and invisible through livelihood, education, health and DRR sectors. Our purpose is graduating communities from extreme poverty

Human Resource Officer Medan – Indonesia

HR Officer (HRO) provides invaluable administrative and functional support to the Human Resources team, helping to ensure consistent support of staff in employment-related matters. Support also includes all administrative activities that support the acceleration of system digitalization in HR.

Qualifications:

  • A commitment to serving the poor and in full agreement with FH’s foundation and beliefs as expressed in The Heartbeat: our Values, Vision, and Purpose;
  • Excellent people skills including warmth and sensitivity, conversational, able to relate to and effectively communicate with people from different cultures (at various levels within the organization);
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indonesia labor law and NGO regulations regarding HR matters;
  • Detail oriented, able to self-manage a diverse and dynamic set of responsibilities, proactively solve problems and / or suggest viable solutions while advancing goals and objectives;
  • Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products (incl. Excel), Google platform, and virtual technologies such as Skype and / or Zoom;
  • English language skills both verbal and written
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from college or university majoring in psychology, management, law or certificate in Human Resource Management or a related field is a plus;
  • At least 2 years related experience in an HR in NGO context;
