Food for the Hungry Indonesia is an independent non-governmental organization based in Medan, North Sumatra and operates in North Sumatra Province and the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra Province. Food for the Hungry Indonesia started working in Indonesia after the December 2004 tsunami killed 283,000 people. Food for the Hungry Indonesia worked with devastated communities to help them rebuild their lives and homes. In 2011, Food for the Hungry Indonesia began a long-term development work and currently we are working to address all forms of human poverty, visible and invisible through livelihood, education, health and DRR sectors. Our purpose is graduating communities from extreme poverty.

Digital and Technology Support Manager (DTSM) | CLICK HERE
Location: Medan, North Sumatera
Purpose of position:
The Digital and Technology Support Manager is key in planning, implementing and supporting ongoing operations and projects in support of the digital and technology ecosystem including hardware, software, internet connectivity, and end-user support. The role includes partnering and supporting digital development initiatives focused on using digital and technology to empower communities, improving access to resources, and enhancing the organization’s impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital, Data or a related field
- At least 5-7 years of experience in IT Support/Operations coordination, digital ecosystem management, device management at a senior or national level, preferably within an NGO or large-scale organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other data management and analysis software.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage complex projects and teams across multiple locations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights at a national level.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of device management software, digital ecosystem tools, and best practices in data security and compliance.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various Area Programs as required.
Productive Learning Specialist (PLS) | CLICK HERE
Location: Medan, North Sumatera
Purpose of position:
This role leads program design, technical leadership, representation, project/program management, monitoring, and staff capacity-building for the effective delivery of Productive Learning strategies and the rollout of its technical specializations. The specialist will conduct analyses to identify priority areas in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Formal and Non-formal Education (F&NE), as well as identify programming opportunities and coordinate systemic interventions to promote them.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Basic Education, Early Childhood Development (ECD), education, social work, psychology, or other relevant fields.
- At least 5 years of experience working on programs that support basic education, ECD, non-formal education, and Youth Development.
- Demonstrable experience in coordinating capacity building and provision of technical support for initiatives that improve children’s development, learning outcomes, and youth development.
- Demonstrable experience in program design and capacity building within the ECD and Formal and non-formal technical specialization.
- Knowledge and application of active learning strategies to promote learners’ knowledge and skills development.
- Skill in tailoring pedagogy to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
- Demonstrable experience in system strengthening work to improve child development and learning outcomes and build the skills of young people to be productive and resilient.
- Experience in partnership building, preferably working within government structures and systems
- Demonstrable capacity to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Demonstrable skills in technical writing including project reports and other technical documents.
- Competence in designing and engaging PL products and solutions that align with principles that build resilience in learners and shareholders.
- Understanding of how to incorporate technology in teaching and learning experiences.
- Commitment to ethical practices in data collection, assessment, and interactions with learners, teachers/facilitators, parents/caregivers and shareholders.
- Proficiency in leading co-creation sessions with shareholders (caregivers, educators, policymakers, and community members) to develop innovative solutions and interventions that address the needs in ECD.

Asset Creation Specialist (ACS) | CLICK HERE
Location: Medan, North Sumatera
Purpose of position:
This role leads resource development, program design, representation, project/program management, monitoring, and staff training for the effective implementation of Asset Creation strategies and the rollout of its technical specializations. The specialist will conduct analyses to identify priority value chains and coordinate systemic interventions to promote these selected value chains. Additionally, they will spearhead entrepreneurship and business development activities within the framework of economic, environmental, and social inclusion for vulnerable groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in agricultural sciences, Agri business development, animal and livestock development, environment, natural resource management and energy, rural development, business administration and economics.
- Master’s degree in agri-business development, Agricultural Economics, agricultural sciences, project management, environment, energy, or resilience is preferable.
- At least 5 years working experience working on programmes supporting agriculture and agribusiness among smallholder farmers and farmers groups.
- Experience in project development and capacity building within the Agriculture Sector. Experience working in both the public and private sector would be an asset.
- Demonstrable experience in value chain/market system analysis and design, for normative and field-support work.
- Ability to collaboratively identify barriers to entry and leverage opportunities along the agricultural value chain. Technical proficiency in designing solutions that enhance on-farm production of high-value agricultural products, as well as value addition options.
- Relevant experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders in a value chain/market system development.
- Demonstrable capacity to work under stringent time pressure and to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrable skills in writing well-structured technical, training and reporting documents (English).
Physical and Mental Wellbeing Specialist (PMS) | CLICK HERE
Location: Medan, North Sumatera
Purpose of position:
This role leads program design, technical quality assurance and leadership, networking and partnership building, project/program management, monitoring, and staff capacity-building for the effective delivery of Physical and Mental Wellbeing strategies and the rollout of its technical specializations. The specialist will conduct analyses to identify priority areas and opportunities in Maternal Child Adolescent Health and Nutrition, and coordinate systemic interventions to ensure all persons have equitable access to necessary healthcare, safe and nutritious foods, and a health-enabling environment to reduce unnecessary illness and death and allow all persons to flourish to their fullest potential.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination in Public Health, Food science and Technology, Nutrition and dietetics or related sciences from accredited university. MSc in Public Health and/or Human Nutrition is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working on programs that support maternal child adolescent health and nutrition programs, mental health programs and digital health innovations.
- Demonstrated experience in program design and capacity building within MCAHN, along with knowledge of mental health and psychosocial support.
- Demonstrable experience in community and health systems strengthening to sustainably improve the performance of health systems.
- Must demonstrate experience in research ideation, data demand and usage especially for MCAHN.
- Demonstrable experience in social behavior change and communication skills especially strategy development, implementation or integration.
- Experience in networking partnership building, preferably working within government structures and systems.
- Demonstrable skills in technical writing including project reports and other technical documents
- Knowledge and experience implementing programming that complies with WHO standards and guidelines for C-IMCI and MCAHN.
- Experience in System Practice knowledge and application, an asset.
