Technical Program Associate

Background
The Fleming Fund Country Grant to Indonesia is supporting the government in implementing the National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Action Plan. The fund supports strategies to monitor and contain AMR and to monitor antimicrobial consumption and use (AMC/U) and improve antimicrobial stewardship. The Fleming Fund Country Grant Indonesia is being implemented by a consortium led by DAI with partners KIRE, Health Security Partners, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Prevalensi Nusantara. The implementation of the fund adopts a One Health approach supporting activities across the human, terrestrial animal and aquatic animal sectors. The project seeks to strengthen current surveillance of AMR and AMU/C by working closely with the Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Marine Affairs and Fisheries and provincial counterparts to support capacity development in relation to laboratories and testing, surveillance and information management. The project will also support and seek to engage private sector interests including healthcare providers and animal production industry stakeholders.
Purpose of This Post
DAI Fleming Fund Country Grant to Indonesia is seeking a dynamic professional for the full-time position of Technical Program Associate.
Description of Duties
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assists the technical team in the administration and delivery of activities including trainings, site visits and ad hoc requests from counterparts.
- Regularly visits counterparts across ministries to follow up on requests made by the technical team.
- Coordinates with counterpart administrators to manage timelines, secure activity dates and ensure activities are delivered smoothly.
- Manages materials and keeps repositories updated and accessible to the team and counterparts as directed.
- Coordinates between the technical and operational teams – primarily with the Liaison Officer and Logistician – for organizing venues for events and ensuring they meet counterpart requirements in terms of cost and location.
- Ensures equipment needed for events and activities is delivered and meets the standards required for all technical activities. Supports partners in ensuring all needed equipment and logistics meet counterpart and sub-contractor needs and all documentation is in place to ensure prompt actions and reimbursements when required.
- Ensures documentation from all participants is received in a timely manner, in coordination with the Liaison and Logistician.
- Supports drafting and sending of formal letters, including invitations to Grant events, from the technical team.
- Gather and update contact database regularly.
- Manages materials and keeps repositories updated and accessible to the team and counterparts as directed.
- Summarize data and analysis in presentation-ready formats and user-friendly visuals, which could be used for high-level advocacy and informed-decisions.
- Assist training implementation as required such as collating participant attendance list, taking documentation of the trainings.
- Support data entry for grant monitoring when required.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least a bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, finance and economics, or statistics plus minimum 3 years work relevant experience.
- Ability to conduct research and desk review, and prepare comprehensive and concise summaries/reports, including data visualization.
- Operational knowledge/experience on monitoring and evaluation tool.
- Good communication skills (written and oral) in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Desirable
- Familiarity with the human and animal health sectors; One Health approach; Global Health Security.
Supervision
- The Technical Program Associate will work under the direct supervision of Senior Technical Program Lead.
Level of Effort/Timeline
- Full time position. The employment agreement will start by September 2024 through December 2024 with possibility of an extension. The Technical Program Associate will be based in Jakarta, with occasional travel to other parts of Indonesia.

- Indonesian national.
Remuneration and package
- Remuneration and package will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
