PROJECT MANAGER SETI
Yayasan Indonesia Cerah (CERAH) is a non-profit organization in Indonesia, aims to promote the country’s energy transition policy agenda. CERAH comprises experts in the energy sector, communication, and campaigning. We collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including the community, research institutions, the government, and private sector, to achieve our goals.
Sustainable Energy Transition Indonesia (SETI) is a consortium led by GIZ Indonesia that focuses on supporting Indonesia in reducing carbon emissions through the use of integrated renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) applications in energy consumption hotspots. SETI aims to demonstrate innovative technologies and successful business cases to the private sector, encouraging the replication of RE and EE approaches that will help boost Indonesia’s global competitiveness. Finally, SETI aims to create learning networks anchored at local stakeholders and business associations to provide public knowledge, promote innovation, and facilitate the scaling up of promising user cases.
The Project Manager will lead the project management unit and work closely with the Team Leader, the CERAH Ops team, and other CERAH office staff. As a Project Manager of Sustainable Energy Transition Indonesia (SETI), the responsibilities will include:
Project Management:
Leading in implementation and overseeing project on the ground under the guidance of the Team Leader, including managing relationships with consortium members, relevant partners, and stakeholders in the energy and the industry sector in Indonesia;
Responsible for managing a team project consisting of a project officer, program administration and finance, and reporting to the Team Leader.
Ensure the implementation of the project activities operates within the timeframe and procedures of the organization and donor policies;
Prepare, execute, and report activities according to the annual implementation plan to management and donor on time;
Develop the annual project’s result based monitoring report in accordance with donor guidelines;
Gather information, monitor, and report, including provide analysis, on the energy and industry sector in Indonesia and related policy changes;
Assist the SETI consortium with various tasks related to strategic communication aimed at accelerating the rate of energy transition in Indonesia;
Attend visits to project areas, relevant meetings, briefings, and events on behalf of CERAH, including works outside Jakarta.
Administration and Finance related tasks:
In close collaboration with Project Admin and the CERAH Ops Team to ensure strict financial monitoring and controls of the project by and following CERAH’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and donor guidelines and regulations.
Approvals: Provide review and approvals of project expenses in line with the financial segregation of duties;
To perform other tasks to achieve program results with the direction and coordination of the Team Leader, i.e.:
To ensure all activities are carried out with good quality standards, follow the procedure, administrative aspects, and time manner.
Assist and inform the Team Leader regularly about the achievements and gaps of the program and financial implementation based on the work plan and budget and discuss the technical steps needed as follow-up actions.
Budget management: in coordination with the Team Leader and Project Management Unit, manage the budget, track expenses, and ensure the project stays within budget constraints through regular budget forecasts.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in an NGO and related sectors (preferably in the area of energy transition and renewable energy issues);
Have the ability to think critically and strategically;
Have the ability to develop and execute work plans ;
Familiarity with public exposure
Familiarity with project operations and financial management;
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and function well under deadlines or concurrent activities;
Resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and. High standard of personal and professional integrity;
Fast learner and strong adaptability
Demonstrated success managing a small team is preferable;
A good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization and with external stakeholders
Having working experience in consortium setting with GIZ or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
The position is urgently required. The Project Manager will report directly to the Team Leader, Yayasan Indonesia Cerah (CERAH). This will be a contract-based position. The remuneration is based on qualification, competency, and salary history.
