Yayasan CARE Peduli (YCP) was established in July 2018 as the national entity that will continue CARE’s presence and operations in Indonesia, following its institutional commitment to diversification within the confederation and to the localization of aid and strengthening partnerships with national entities.
CARE believes that this important step in the evolution of CARE’s presence in Indonesia will further enhance its more strategic role in both the development and the humanitarian fields.
As a national entity that connected to CARE Confederation, YCP aims to contribute more significantly in addressing and representing national development priorities both in Indonesia and globally as well. In pursuit of our mission, we work in close partnerships with government, civil society and women-led organizations, private sector, media to deliver results to the communities we serve.
ABOUT the activity for women in the workplace
Gender inequality and patriarchal cultural norms still occur, especially for the women in the workplace. This have an impact on recruitment and employment in the garment industry full of gender discrimination, both against women and men. For the improvement of gender equality, Yayasan CARE Peduli is establishing a holistic framework for gender equality that aims to capture and drive impact across garment brand entire enterprise, including supply chains (starting with garment and soft home).
The activities on women in the workplace YCP currently are at different stages, one of the implementations is the at the co-creation early concept stage that require deep contextualization for country and local contexts. This will involve identifying and tailoring a smart-mix of policy, process and programmatic interventions based on a set of shared characteristics of corresponding factories and with extensive inputs from participating factories. Besides the project co-creation and implementation, YCP is also part of the initiative to establish Gender Equality Network. As part of the finalization of the concept notes, baseline and associated preparatory actions, as well as the project implementation, YCP intends to engage a Project Officer that will be responsible to support the deliverables associated with the women at the workplace in garment industry.
The project(s) will be designed and implemented from July 2023 – December 2025 in Central Java and West Java.
Job Objective/Summary
The Project Officer will be working under the supervision of Project Manager will be responsible for the project administrative functions as well as communication for two intervention areas. He or She will support administration and communication according to YCP’s policy and procedures. This position will be based in Jakarta.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administration and Communication Management
- Maintain good filing of the project documents, etc.
- Support training or meeting activities; contacting consultant(s), speaker(s), providing stationaries, venue, attendance sheets, etc.
- Support Project Manager in collecting, verifying the supporting documents for financial reports.
- Represent YCP with the province, district government and/or factory management for relevant support matters.
- Arrange accommodation and transportation of YCP staff or visitors.
- Support Project Manager and coordinate with Branding & Public Relations Sr. Manager YCP to update regular project activities for the Gender Equality Network platform.
- In coordination with Project Manager, ensure that staff follow security and safety policy.
Procurement / Logistic
- Plan, manage, and provide advice on procurement activities, following rules, procedures and regulations.
- Ensure that all procurement activities are based on YCP procurement policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely, effective and accurate procurement activities.
- Review technical proposals of suppliers and carry out cost/benefit analysis.
- Evaluate offers and make recommendations for the finalisation of purchases and the award of contracts.
- Regular communication and updates on procurement status to program staffs.
- Coordinate shipping and delivery arrangements of purchased equipment.
- Develop and prepare technical and legal contracts.
- Manage and coordinate negotiations with all interested parties including contract disputes and claims.
- Prepare reports on procurement activity.
Other
- Conduct any other duties that may reasonably be assigned related to position’s function. Tasks may expand or be adjusted in accordance to the real needs in the field.
Requirements
Education, experience and technical competencies
- University degree in management, business administration, or related field.
- Three years’ experience working with I/NGO environment within administration and procurement and logistics.
- Knowledge of communication software or tech savvy in social media; recording/filling, procurement and logistics is desirable.
- Has experience working in gender issues, GBV including but not limited to gender in emergencies
- Very good computer skills, MS Office application.
- Demonstrate working command of English and excellent Indonesian, both written and spoken are essential especially for the social media content in gender.
