Background

Yayasan ADRA Indonesia is a humanitarian organization and belongs to the worldwide ADRA network, comprising more than 120 supporting and implementing country offices. The mission of ADRA is to serve humanity thus all may live as God intended through Justice, Compassion, and Love as its main values. ADRA Indonesia has been working in Indonesia since 1981 and registered as a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 1991.

The 6 months project of DRCh intends to increase the capacity of local churches on forecast-based financing for anticipatory actions and to be able to provide humanitarian assistance with strong Protection to the internally displaced people (IDPs) if a humanitarian crisis occurred. Project deliverables are to set up an early warning system for early actions, develop Church Emergency Management Plans (ChEMP) that includes anticipatory action, and establish a partnership with other humanitarian actors in Indonesia. There are four immediate outcomes of the DRCh: (1) Resources and facilities of local churches are mapped and ready to host IDPs, (2) Increase awareness of community vulnerability and early warning for disaster-ready church Outcomes, (3) Local church has ERT with clear protocols, guidelines, policies, and plans, (4) Increase capacity of local churches for anticipatory and emergency response.

Functions of role

Project Officer’s role is to support Project Manager in building communication and partnership with key stakeholders that contribute to the project outcomes. This includes including to manage and facilitate the flow of essential information and coordination with key stakeholders inside and outside Papua. This position will play a critical role in knowledge management and support the fundraising system that will support the ChEMP.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support Project Manager in organizing online and onsite training, workshops, meetings, or FGDs.
  • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to measure the progress and results of the project and initiatives to achieve project targets.
  • Support liaises amongst churches and churches with civil society organizations, especially humanitarian actors for collaboration and coordination.
  • Managing the project feedback and complaint mechanism
  • Ensure compliance of all actions and activities with organizational rules, regulations, policies, strategies, and internal control mechanisms.

Qualifications and Competencies Required

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in social science, development, sociology, or other related fields.
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of experience in project monitoring and evaluation in community development or humanitarian assistance-related projects
  • Display good communication and presentation skills, and good writing skills in English. Skill in marketing will be an advantage.
  • Displays a strong cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age sensitivity and adaptability
